Minerva unlocked the door to her classroom and propped it open, ready for the students who were to be taking her lesson this term. She carried with her a small stack of papers, and set them on the desk that sat at the front of the room. With a flick of her wand the words Transfiguration ~ Professor McGonagall appeared on the black board that flanked one wall.
Minerva stood in a stiff manner at the front of the room, her hands clasped in front of her. Her hair, as always, was pulled into a tight bun at the nape of her neck. An emerald green hat, which matched her long robes, rested comfortably atop her head. Her spectacles rested on the bridge of her nose, low enough to glare over their rim at any tardy students.
There was nothing exceptionally interesting about the room. Multiple rows of tables, each table seating two students. The wall were currently bare, but as term progressed the stone would become hidden behind diagrams and the like.

Evie strolled into the room and realized she was the first one there. It was odd. Last term she had been late to most of her lessons. She nodded a greeting to the professor as she passed and found a seat.

Minerva watched as the students came into the classroom. She noticed a large number of Slytherin students were missing, and shook her head slightly. She wasn't going to wait any longer, they would just have to lose points from their house, just like any other students.
"This is your final year studying Transfiguration at Hogwarts. And being so, this is going to be far more complex lessons. We are going to start with a little review, to freshen up after the summer holiday. Open your books to page 13." Her own book had been laying open on this page, as her previous class of sixth years were just beginning this lesson. "Human Transfiguration. You all studied this last year, hopefully you've managed to retain the information. I will need two students to volunteer; one to cast the spell and one to receive it." She had taught this class many years, and was quite comfortable in her ability to return someone to their prior state after one of the students transfigured them.

Larissa had finished breakfast and started walking with her friends to her first class, Transfiguration, when she realized that she didn't have her book. She assured her friends that it would only take her a minute to get up to Gryffindor Tower to retrieve it, and she would meet them in Professor McGonagall's class on time.
Unfortunately as she hurried up the stairs Nearly Headless Nick floated past, warning her that Peeves was throwing ink pellets at anyone who used that corridor. Larissa now had to retrace her steps and take another route to Gryffindor Tower, which meant she would be late. She quickly gave the Fat Lady the password, ran up to her room and grabbed her book, and then ran as fast as she could to her first class.
Breathing heavily Larissa opened the door and stepped inside. "S'rry Professor. Forgot my book." She took a seat at the nearest available desk which happened to be right next to Evie, a Slytherin girl of all people. Larissa looked over and saw that everyone else's book was opened to page thirteen, so she flipped her open as well. They had studied this the year before, so Larissa knew they must be doing review.
Larissa raised her hand. "I'd like to give i' a go if you wouldn't mind Professor."

Belinda looked at a small clock on the wall, she was late to her first Transfigurations class as Head Girl, seeing as how Headmistress McGonagall was the professor she need to think of something, and something quick.
Slowly entering through the transfiguration door Belinda put on a fake face of devastation and quietly walked across the classroom. Seeing Evelyn in a near seat Belinda quickly walked over to the empty chair next to her. “I’m sorry I was late Professor McGonagall,” she said looking at the head mistress with a sad glint in her eyes. “But you see a young first year fell through the trick step and seemed badly injured. As head girl I felt obligated to escort the child to the hospital wing.”
After her tragic story Belinda tilted her head downward in fake sadness and sat down in the seat next to Evelyn. She quickly reached into her bag and pulled out her Transfiguration book. She quickly glanced at Evie’s book to see what page they were starting on today.

Evie followed the professor's directions, reaching into her bag and pulling out her copy of Advanced Transfiguration and opened it to page 13. She remembered how excited she had been last term when Professor McGonagall told them they would be learning human transfiguration. Now it just seemed a chore to have to review it.
The door opened and a Gryfindor girl came in. Straight away the girl had taken one of the seats next to her. There were plenty of other seats available, had the girl bothered to walk three or four more steps she would have found a more suitable seat, but apparently the girl was lazy.
The door opened again and Belinda came in, spurting off some fake story about a first year. Evie stifled a laugh. Belinda was her best friend, and therefore Evie could tell fairly easily when she was lying. But the professor didn't know Belinda as well as Evie, so the story might actually go over with her. When Belinda sat down next to her she whispered to Belinda "first year I disagree."

Minerva raised an eyebrow as the door was pushed open. Larissa entered the room and Minerva shook her head with disappointment. "Miss Valo you need to be prepared for lessons. That includes having your materials and being to class on time. Five points from Gryffindor." She was about to continue when the door opened again, this time revealing Belinda. She was about to scold her as well when Belinda told her about the first year and the trick stair. "Very well Miss Burke, but try to hurry a little more next time."
"As I was saying, I need two volunteers. Miss Valo you may preform the spell. Who would like to receive the spell? I assure you it is safe."

Belinda laughed, she knew Evie would be the first to know she story wasn’t true. Transfiguration was usually a boring class, but sometimes it could get interesting. Belinda just wished she were sitting next to Evie, not at the table next to her. She wondered why Evie was sitting with a Gryffindor of all people. “What’s with the Gryffindor?” she whispered to Evie, hoping not to get caught by McGonagall. She was already not too happy with Belinda.
Belinda heard McGonagall saying she needed two volunteers. Seeing as how Belinda was a complete suck-up in class she quickly raised her hand and gave a smile. “I would like to cast the spell Professor.” She said, wondering what exactly she would be performing.

Minerva gestured for Larissa to come up to the front of the class. "Miss Valo has already volunteered to cast the spell. But if you would like to earn some house points Miss Burke we are still in need of a subject to recieve the spell."

“Yea that’s what I ment.” Belinda said biting her lip a little. “I will receive the spell.” Belinda was never one to receive spells but seeing as she wasn’t paying attention when McGonagall was talking and miss heard what she said, Belinda felt obligated to face the spell.
Belinda stood up from her desk and walked up to the front of the room. She was a little nervous but didn’t show it.

"Good then," she said sternly. "Now, both you fo you come up here. "Miss Valo, you remember the incantation. 'Humanus Verto' go ahead then." She waited, her wand at the ready. She was confident that Larissa would be able to perform the spell properly, as all of her class had got it correct in their exams at the end of last term.
