McGonagall made her way out the castle and down the grounds to rocky ledge where a large willow tree swayed slightly in the wind. It's branches had grown so long that when the wind picked up, or the tree got aggravated, it's whip-like branches reached much farther than they should. A few of the students had been complaining that their books and personal other affects had been destroyed by the wicked tree. As McGonagall approached the willow she heard the whimpering of a young first year. The girl had just had her journal whipped out of her hands. The professor chastised the girl for getting so close to the plant, magicked a bandage on her wounded hand, and sent her up to the hospital wing. Then she turned to the tree, wand in hand, and gave a disapproving tut. "And now I have you to deal with." She lifted her wand and waved it in the direction of the willow tree. Purple sparks shot from the tip of her wand towards the ends of the branches. The tree began to vigorously thrash about as the long, leafy whips began to shrink. The tree was so loud in its anger that McGonagall couldn't hear the footsteps of the person approaching behind her.

Keely had wandered out onto the grounds for a stroll. She needed to take some time to herself just now, but she wasn't sure why, she just knew she needed it, and off she went. Spotting McGonagall out of the corner of her eye she opted to walk in her direction. Not wishing to startle her former professor, and current boss she walked as quietly as possible.

Finally Keely was close enough that the tree could no longer mask the woman's footsteps. Turning, Minerva pocketed her wand. "Good morning Professor Markum," she greeted politely, a still stern but caring look on her face. The wind had picked up and began to blow against the two women. But Professor McGonagall's tight bun would not budge, even with Mother Nature trying her hardest.

"Good morning, you're well I trust?" She asked pulling her burgundy robes tighter around herself. The wind was adding a bit of a chill in the air. Spring was in the air, yet a few weeks away. Keely couldn't wait for the warmer weather when the children could get outside of the castle walls and burn off some of that excess energy. I was starting to drive the professors a bit batty.
The wind played with Keely's hair as it picked up yet again. She noted Minerva's stayed as it was, something that always amazed her - for some odd reason or another. "Do you think we've seen the last of the snow then?" She didn't know what to talk about and this was the result of it.

"Professor Trelawney thinks we'll have another great snowstorm before spring comes in. She's determined that it will be the end of one of our students, though she can't tell whom." Minerva disapproved of such branches of magic, but it was Dumbledore's choice to hire Trelawney and Minerva McGonagall wasn't one to judge the wisdom of Albus Trelawney.
