Minerva carried a small stack of papers with her into the classroom. Setting them on the desk, she turned and leaned slightly on the edge of her desk, which was at the head of the room. Her hair was pulled back into a bun that rested at the nape of her neck, and wore an emerald green hat, which matched perfectly to her long, flowing robes.
There was nothing exceptionally interesting about the room. Multiple rows of tables, each table seating two students. The wall were currently bare, but as term progressed the stone would become hidden behind diagrams and the like.

Jennifer walked into the room, her bag slung over her shoulder. "Morning Professor." Jen smiled broadly at her, glad that term had finally started. Jen noticed she was the first one to class, which meant she could sit anywhere she pleased. She dropped her bag next to one of the desks in the second row and sat down. She pulled out her supplies and doodled on a scratch of parchment until the rest of the class arrived.

Minerva nodded stiffly at Jennifer and waited until she and the rest of the student had seated themselves. "As always, I expect a certain level of concentration and discipline from all of you. Now, let's begin. I assume you all have your texts; Intermediate Transfiguration. Please open to page 347." With a flick of her wand her own book flipped open, revealing page 347 entitled Vanishing Spells.
"In past years you have all worked very hard to, hopefully, successfully vanish inanimate objects such as quills and parchment. This year we will be focusing on vanishing living things." She began to pace the front of the room as she spoke. "By the end of term I hope that you will all be able to completely vanish large, complex creatures. But the more complex an item is, the harder it is to transfigure it. With that in mind, I would like you all to come up and get a worm." She pulled out a box of worms from her desk drawer. She wanted to wait until everyone had a worm before she continued.
