The wind was nipping at his nose when he stepped forth from the castle to enter the lake grounds. Braeden; who had his trench coat covering his formal school uniform. Crossed the grounds swiftly as he made his way to the lake. The wind was crisp and the grassed crunched under his feet. Moving to a empty bench, he sat down and leaned forward. Wondering where his sister and went, he leaned back and took in a deep cold breath and exhaled. Crossing his legs, he tapped his thumb lightly on the side of his leg; a habit picked up from his father. Looking up towards the sky, the sun was fading into the deep sky and the moon was filling its place gradually. "Boredom strikes again..."

Kieran lifted half of her golden brown hair in her hands and began fastening a hair tie around it as she walked down the path that led to the lake to meet her twin brother, Braeden. She was dressed in street clothes this evening for she felt the school's dress code of long black robes didn't suit her very well. Tonight she was wearing a pair of brown suede boots over a pair of jeans. A knee length black sweater trench coat was draped over her shoulders, loosely fastened around her waist. Upon reaching the lake she found her brother seated comfortably on a nearby bench.
"Taking a little bit of a risk aren't you? Sitting out here all by yourself."

Hearing the ground crunch a few steps behind him. Braeden, turned his attention to it to see his sister finally coming down to see him. "A risk? What do you mean?" Being bright never meant having a good common sense. Brushing some of the ice/snow off of the seat next to him; he made sure she had it better than at all costs. "What took you so long? PLan on meeting someone after this?" He chuckled and seized the moment as the sun finally surpassed into the deep sky and the moons quarter gaze blessed his presence once again. "Ahh...Such a wonderful sight indeed." He said to himself before turning his attention back to his sister.[/color]

Kieran rolled her eyes at her brother. He never seemed to understand the simplest of jokes.
"Nevermind. Wouldn't want you to strain a nerve just trying to understand me."
She gave a short laugh and took a seat next to him, wrapping her sweater tighter around her.
"You know I couldn't have been out here earlier. Of all places to meet you pick the one place that is touched by the most light."
She turned her gaze to the horizon before them, watching the sun slowly sink into the darkness.
"Beautiful sight indeed. Watching it go down that is. Never was a big fan of the sun myself, but then again you know that."

"It takes a strained nerve to understand some of the things that come out of the hole you call a mouth, my dear sis." Giving a soft smile and nodded in agreement. "Sometimes it's better to face your fears head on and the sun is yours. But I only chose this spot because of the moon lighting. It always seemed to bring out your true beauty." He didn't like talking about what she was, so he learned how to change the subject smoothly as possible. He knew how to advert most things from his sister...but the whole,...vampire thing really urked him. "How's classes coming along?" Was usually the first things that he liked to talk about. Probably because he was better at them then here and he liked to rub them in as much as he could. But he always said it with a sorta concerned tone; but they both knew what it was trully about."

"Oh shove it, Braeden."
She giggled softly. Kieran was so used to the way that they taunted each other. She could never grow tired of those times. It was the reason they were so close. She listened closely as he spoke about the sun. It was the one time she definitely looked up to her brother. He was so wise, you could hear it in every word he spoke. She let him continue without interrupting.
"Yeah..you're right. Like always."
She gave him a smile before answering his next question.
"Well you know how that goes. I'm getting along great in all of my classes besides Divination. I mean c'mon! You stare into a freaking crystal ball all day!! And when you're not doing that you're staring at someone's hand. It's completely ridiculous!"
She huffed and folded her arms, just like she always used to do as a girl. Looking over at her brother she couldn't help but laugh.
"I bet you're doing fabulous though, right?"

Divination... He thought to himself as she spoke on. He didn't like that class either, but there was nothing they could do. It did seem like a pretty pointless class. "Yea..It does....suck, but we got to do it. Hands or glass balls..Heh." Leaning forward, he took in a deep breath and coughed some. He had been seriously feeling ill at nights anymore. He didn't know what it was all about. But he didn't want his sister to be concerned with him. He could take care of whatever illness struck him. "But of course!" He said sarcasticly. "I'm passing everything like usal, nothing seems to be a challenge for me no more. Guess...Guess I got the smarter genes of the family. "He smirked to himself and turned to look at her before he looked back at the lake. A thin layer of ice covered it, just visible the meerpeople were still going on through there lives.

"Are you alright, Braeden?"
She placed a hand on his back as he leaned forward and gave a cough. This wasn't the first time he'd been coughing around her. She was already worried about him enough so this did not help in the least bit.
"I want you to go to the hospital wing and don't you try to tell me that you're fine. Something isn't right, Braeden."
She looked into his eyes, a look of concern upon her face. She'd already felt like she'd lost her parents, she couldn't lose him too.

Sighing, he knew she was right. It was probably some seasonal virus or something effecting him right now. Turning to her, he smiled and nodded. "I will, promise. I'll go in the morning, alright?" Leaning back up, he slide one of his arms over the edge of the bench and rested it there. Coughing softly one more time, he wasn't going to go in the morning and she probably knew it. He didn't do medical facilities.

She knew her brother all too well. He always hid things from her for her own good. Not this time. She knew something wasn't right and she was going to get to the bottom of it.
"I'm worried about you."
She scooted closer to him and wrapped herself around him, trying to keep him warm.
"You have to stick around at least for a few more years. I need my brother still."
She looked up at him and smiled weakly as a tear slid down her face. He was all she had left. She could never let that go.

Feeling her warmth from her tiny body try to help him was sweet, something only a sister could do. Looking down at her, he didn't want to think about it...But she was already...dead. She was a vampire after all...it all was so hard to fathiem at the moment. She didn't want him to go when she was already gone...Running his thumb down her cheek, he took that tear away. "I"ll be fine..I promise. You wont loose me, I'm to damn hard to loose. You're stuck with me miss."

Hearing his words made her want to laugh and she couldn't hold it back. She giggled like a little girl while still wrapping her arms around him.
"Hmph, I knew I loved you for a reason."
Grinning she looked back up at him. He was the greatest part of her life, though he didn't know it. She had no idea how she would have made it through all the rough times without him.

Leaning in, he kissed her softly on the top of her head. And pressed his cheek against her as he hugged her to him. He didn't know what to say; a speechless moment. Closing his eyes, he put all the negative aspects of there life and pushed them away again. Not wanting them to spoil there time together. Even though they pretty much saw each other everyday, he was never tired of seeing her. He didn't know where he would be without her there with him and he was glad she was. They counter ballenced each other. "What did you do today?" He ask softly to her. The wind swishing and whistling past them softly.

She enjoyed the feeling of him leaning against her. She loved times like these and they forever stood in her memory.
"Actually, today I met a boy in the library. We spent the afternoon up in the Astronomy Tower."
She awaited the moment when he was going to give her 'the speech.' All brothers did it. She wasn't sure whether she wanted to hear him talk negative about the boy she'd met earlier or not.

He just sat there, not knowing what to say or how to react. This was a first for him and it kinda hit him like a brick wall. Raising up, he just looked down at her and shrugged. "Umm...So, who is he?" Was the first question, he assumed was appropreit in this situation.
