Minerva whispered the password to the stone gargoyle, which sprang off to one side, revealing a circular staircase. Once she had stepped on the staircase it began moving, gliding its way toward her office. She stepped off the staircase and opened the door. Sighing, she rested in her chair behind the over sized desk. It's so peaceful, she thought. It shan't be this way for long. The students were due to arrive soon, and lessons would be beginning. And, of course, mischief would be starting. Minerva sighed again before turning her attention to her paperwork.

Keely had been exploring the castle trying to get her footing as it were. It was wonderful to be back in the castle, and yet somewhat sad too. This place held many a memory, most of them with Seamus. But he was gone now, and she was alive. Time to act like it. As she wandered along she soon came to the entrance to the Headmistress' Office. That too was odd to think of, not that Professor McGonagall didn't deserve it, just that Dumbledore was gone.
She had no clue as to what the current password was, but hoped the Headmistress would know if someone were out here. After all it couldn't hurt to stop in and say hello.

The stone gargoyle lept to one side, revealing a circular staircase and Minerva, standing at the foot of it. "Ah, Mrs. Rogan. What a pleasure. Do come up."

Keely gulped as she followed the stairs up, she felt a bit like a fourth year being sent for some such thing or another. But she managed to relax when she saw Headmistress McGonagall. "Good afternoon Headmistress. I was just out getting my legs as it were and found myself outside your office and well--" Keely flushed when she realized she was once again rambling. She may now be 28 but her new employer and former professor still made her a touch nervous, as though she was still that shy young girl, in a way she was.

The stairs carried the two women up to the Headmistress' office and Minerva opened to large oak door and walked inside. "I'm so terribly sorry about not meeting you down in the entrance hall when you arrived. There was a situation with the chidlren in the great hall." She walked around her desk and sat down. "Please, sit."

"It's perfectly alright. I take it that the more things have changed elsewhere, they stay very much the same here." She smiled, Keely had seen a few of the 'victims' of the incident in the Great Hall. "I don't believe we were much better when I was in my sixth year if I recall."
Sitting in the chair provided Keely smoothed her skirt and rested her hands in her lap. "Thank you for accepting my application, I-I needed to come back."

"No, I dare say your lot was far worse than the children today." She remembered an incedent where a boy in the same year as Keely had tricked a first year muggle born into thinking she was on fire, when in fact the boy had only used a flame freezing charm. Minerva gave Keely a small smile. "I was assured that you would be a wonderful replacement Madame Pince."

Keely flushed a little at the Headmistress' last comment. "Yes, I am Headmistress. I've worked in several magikal and non magikal libraries in the last eight years, including some time working in the archives at The Ministry." It had been a rather dull job as far as co-workers went, but the work itself had been very interesting. "I think any 'wild' behavior I may have had in the past is long gone from my system." She added and smiled again.

"That is good to hear. We have had enough trouble keeping the children in line lately, we wouldn't want to have to keep a strict eye on the staff as well." Minerva didn't have much of a sense of humor, so when she told a joke it was rather hard to tell whether she was serious or not.

She forced a smile, no one ever knew when Professor McGonagall was kidding or not. "There is one other thing I'd like to discuss with you. If you've the time."

Minerva thought for a moment. She did have to meet with the gameskeeper, but that wasn't for a few more hours. "Yes dear, I've the time. What is it?"

"I'll be quite quick about it. I can imagine how busy you must be with the new term starting so soon. It's about my son Jack." Keely paused a moment. "He'll be starting Hogwarts this year and I just want you to know that he won't be receiving any special treatment from me. But I would like to be kept informed of his behavior. He took his father's death harder than I did I fear."
Her son had a quick temper it seemed these days and while he talked to her as he always had, she felt he was shutting her out here and there.

Minerva nodded as she listened. "I can assure you that should your son's behavior becaome inappropriate you will be inform straight away. And, with being a staff member, you will be able to keep a closer eye on him as well. But I have to warn you. Your son, just like any other student, will have to obey the rules. If he does not, there will be consequences, ones even you cannot get him out of."

"Good, I was hoping you would say that. I do not expect special favors for him. He has been told the same by myself and his grandfather." She felt relieved actually, hopefully Jack would not test her, he seemed to be do a great deal of it the last two years. But it was difficult for him not having a father figure around, and she could only do so much. "Thank you for your time, I'll be on my way then."

"It was a pleasure." She stood and walked around her desk to the door. She held it open for the woman.
