Ryan just smiled, he hated History it was his least favorite subject, he was more of a Transfiguration DADA kind of person. "That's cool."

She could tell by his tone of voice that he obviously wasn't interested like she was.
"What do you like to read about? Since you don't seem to like History very much."
She giggled shortly. She thought it was rather cute that he tried to hide it from her.

"Anything interesting really, but I do like reading about things not a lot of people know about. Things like old fashion magic and stuff like that. I am also big in Transfiguration and DADA" Ryan smiled those where his two best subjects. He got an O on both his O.W.L's last year, but that's what he got on all of his classes except history of magic.

"Ah, finally something we have in common. Defence Against the Dark Arts is my best subject. I'm not bad in Transfiguration either. Though I hate to admit it, Divination is my worst subject. Pointless really, if you ask me."
She smirked, glancing over at him quickly.
"If you ever need help with History I'm always around. Honestly, I wouldn't mind helping out. It's the least I could do.."

"Really I love Divination, but then again as the last professor said i had a very in-tuned inner eye, I don't know if that is saying much but..." Ryan shrugged "History of Magic has always been me worst subject."

"Do you stick around here for the holidays or go home?"
Kieran was more interested in his home life now more than all this 'school' talk they had been having. She was sure her home was very different from Ryan's, especially since sometimes it felt like she had no home.

"No I go home, the Holidays is a big deal in my family." His family was always big on Holidays, but some times it was weired going home consider not every one knew where he went to school.

"Oh..."
Kieran wished she could go home during the holidays, if she really had a home to go to. The thing was that her parents worked so hard to make it in their business' that they barely had any time for her or her brother. Christmas used to consist of them sitting near the tree, exchanging gifts in silence, alone. Since then she'd spent her holidays away from home, at Hogwarts.
"I wish I could say the same."

"You don't go home for the Holiday?" Ryan thought that was a little odd because ever one he knew went home for the holidays.

"Not anymore."
Feeling a bit uncomfortable she stood up and walked over to the stone ledge by which her books sat on the floor. The chilly air stung her cheeks but she didn't care. She placed her mug down on the ledge after taking a long drink and simply stared out into the open air, not saying a word.

"Are you OK?" Ryan stood up and walked over behind her. He was starting to think he said something wrong to offend her.

She forced a small smile on her face as she looked over at him.
"It's nothing really. I'll be fine."
Looking back out into the empty space that lay ahead of them her mind revisited her home. It was a few years ago. Christmas eve. Her parents hadn't been home all week, leaving her brother to take care of her, not that she needed taking care of. All they had was a note left on the kitchen counter stating that her father wouldn't be home because he'd just received new evidence on a case he'd been working on for months. Her mother on the other hand was away on a trip to Rome in which she was to be writing an article on some ancient crypt that had just been uncovered. It was the worst Christmas of her life. How do you celebrate such a happy holiday without your entire family present? Kieran stared blankly, unaware of her silence or the fact that she had been day dreaming.

Ryan moved over closer to the window so he was right next to her."It doesn't look that way to me, is there anything i can do to help?" Ryan wasn't sure what to do, he was wondering what was going through her head, what had made her fell like this. He was always trying to help other he hated to see them in any or of pain.

Hearing the sound of his voice brought her back to the present day. Startled she jumped a bit, knocking over her mug which came crashing down on the floor.
"Oh dear!"
Kneeling down she began to pick up the pieces of glass ,her hands shaking all the while. She was a complete mess. She was sure he knew it.

Ryan bent down and took her hand and looked at her in the eyes. With his free hand he took out his wand out of his pocket and waved it over the broken class, and like that it mended.
