Belinda had just left Gladrag’s Wizardwear and now she was on her way to Schrivenshaft’s Quill shop. While on the train some second year Hufflepuff stepped on Belinda’s new phoenix feather quill she bought in Diagon Alley. Because something like this cannot go UN noticed Belinda turned the young Hufflepuff into a big brown rat. Belinda was never very good at transfiguration so he turned into more of a half rat half boy kind of thing. But either way Belinda found enjoyment in the results and so did many of the other students.
Belinda came across the small quill shop and quickly waked up towards the door. Hopefully she would be able to find the same quill. Slowly opening the door Belinda walked into the shop and looked around. There were a few younger students looking at all the disappearing inks and other useless things. Belinda walked up to the counter where a bunch of beautiful quills were kept inside a large glass case. Belinda bent down so she was eye level to the quills and looked at all, lined up in a neat straight line. Towards the very end Belinda saw the very same quill that careless little Hufflepuff had broken on the train, a beautiful red phoenix feather quill with gold details.
Confided on wanting to buy this exact quill Belinda walked over to the check out counter where a scrawny old man was standing polishing off a few bottles of gold ink. “Excuse me sir,” she asked politely, “but I would like to buy that red phoenix feather quill in the glass case.” The old man kindly nodded his head and slowly walked over to the case. With a slight flick of his wand the case opened and he pulled out the quill. He gave it a quick dusting and slowly walked it back over to the counter where Belinda was still standing.
As she waited for the man to ring up her purchase Belinda noticed a beautiful set of colored inks over by the window. Out of pure curiosity she began walking towards the inks but then remembered she was about to pay for her quill. Turning back to the man she gave him a kind smile, “ do you mind holding onto that while I look around the store?” The man politely shook his head and placed the quill in an empty space behind the counter and Belinda continued towards the bottle of ink. She picked up a gold bottle and read the small label, ‘royal purple.’ Setting the inkbottle down Belinda began picked up the different bottles and reading what interesting colors they were. She just couldn’t decide which one she wanted.

Leonardo spotted a rather gorgeous girl enter the quill shop, and being the man that he was, followed her in. He looked around the store as his eyes adjusted to the dimmer lighting, and found her looking at some inks. He strolled up to her and picked up a bottle of ink. "What color do you think I should get?"

Lilith walked into the quill shop ooutof pure boredom. She didn't really like school and didn't need a new quill but she was not the social type and preferred to be where people were not. She figured that the quill shop was a very dull store and thus no one would be in it.
As she began browsing she looked over and saw a fellow Slytherin. She thought her name was Belinda but she wasn't sure. Belinda seemed like an odd name to her but it was nothing compared to her name which held many secrets in it waiting to be discovered.
She decided to walk over to the girl and say hello. After all she didn't want total isolation and maybe it would give her something to do. However she payed no attention to the Hufflepuff standing beside her and tried to get the girl to talk to her and not the stupid Hufflepuff.
"Hi," said Lilith walking over to Belinda. However she wasn't smiling she rarely smiled. "What are you looking at," she asked the girl. Lilith could tell that the girl was interested in something and she wasn't sure what. She hoped it wasn't that horrible pink ink or even worse the invisible ink that all the littler kids were so amazed with.

Leonardo turned to face Brendan. "Well, you know me. It's always a party." There was now two beautiful Slytherin girls looking at the ink. Not being one to pass up such an opportunity, Leonardo grinned. "Excuse me ladies. I am Leonardo, and this is my friend Brendan." He nodded in Brendan's direction. "Can we be of any service to you?" He raised an eyebrow and gave them both a cocky look.

Belinda heard the voice of a male coming from behind her. She turned her head slightly to see who it was. It was Leonardo Hughes, a Hufflepuff of all people. But then out a pure luck someone else entered the quill shop, Lilith Mulciber, luckily a fellow Slytherin. Although Belinda and Lilith were in the same year she didn’t really know her all to well, they shared a few classes with each other but usually Belinda partnered up with Evelyn and didn’t intend on changing that up.
Out of the corner of her eye Belinda saw Lilith come near her, she didn’t really mind, Belinda loved making new friends and who knows maybe the two would click. “I’m just looking at these lovely colored inks. I was thinking of getting the red one myself and maybe this nice green one.” Belinda just gave a small smile but then remembered the Hufflepuff boy that was standing behind her. Turning around so that she faced the boy Belinda tossed him a small bottle of ink. “You should get this yellow one.” She said with a devious smile. “I matches the colors of that wretched house your in.” Letting out a small laugh Belinda turned back towards the inks and began looking through them once again. But unfortunately another Hufflepuff entered the quill shop. “Oh Goodie a Party.” She sneered sarcastically.

Lilith was not fond of the request made by the Hufflepuff boy. Actually she wasn't fond of Hufflepuff's, or Ravenclaw's, or especially Gryffindor's. She'd never be caught dead talking to a Gryffindor only if she was torturing him to his death and he begged for mercy than she'd say no and continue the torture more painfully and more slowly. She thought about that for a minute. Her mind tended to wander.
Part of her wanted to play a little game with the boys. Come on to them a little and then watch them suffer when she turned them down. Another part of her wished they would just go away and she could just talk to Belinda. And the other part of her was looking at a seat over in a dark corner that looked quite appealing.
But she did not want to be so anti-social so fast. She decided to put up with the boys. In her own sinister sarcastic way of course.
"Oh please do, you see I just can't decide between the hotpink ink or the baby pink ink," she said in a mock voice showing infinite amounts of sarcasm.

The typical Slytherin response. Well what was he expecting, really? He ignored Belinda's comment and faced the other girl. "You're Lilith, right?" He bent over and grabbed one of the other bottles on the display. "I think this blue would better bring out your lovely eyes. You don't strike me as a pink girl."

A small smirk appeared on Litlith's face but it was quickly replaced by a glare aimed straight at the Hufflepuff boy.
"No, you're quite mistaken," she paused, "black's the only color for me. If I had anything to say about it my eye's would be black as well but I wasn't born with that luxury. I was born with another far greater far more powerful gift."

Intrigued, Leonardo looked the girl over. He had caught her small smile, but knew that, like most Slytherins, she wouldn't surrender over a simple compliment. "And what gift might that be?" He put the blue ink back onto the display and handed her a bottle of ordinary black ink. The whole point of colored ink was to stand out, it was strange that she thought of such an ordinary, standard color as a luxury. He would have taken the horrible yellow the other girl had offered over standard black.

“Oh but Lilith wouldn’t you think this green color would look lovely on Leonardo here? It’s more of a olive green type color but I think it will do.” An evil smiled formed on Belinda’s face as she slowly pulled her wand out of her pocket. She placed the tip of her wand almost into the bottle of ink and gave a slick flick, barely able to be seen. In a mature of seconds Leonardo’s hair began to change the color of the ink. Letting out a small burst of laughter Belinda capped the inkbottle and placed back on the shelf.
“It looks quite ravishing if I do say so myself.” She laughed looking towards Lilith. She could see friendship fro the two girls in the near future. "All Slytherin girls have a hidden something. You just have to be smart enough to figure it out."

"That's none of your business you Damn Hufflepuff," (can I say damn???) Lilith was outraged at the fact that the boy would even think to ask that to her. She was very touchy when it came to "her gift" and no one on earth not even her parents knew what it was and she didn't plan on telling anyone any time soon.
Although she was quite amused by Belinda's prank maybe that was part of the reason she was still even lookign at the boy.
She had half a mind to get out her wand and start throwing curses but she kept her cool. She didn't want to get in trouble over a stupid Hufflepuff boy. But she was curious of something. For some strange reason she continued to talk to the boy trying to ignore the whitty remark he had made now that she had rebuked him.
"And just what year are you?" she sneered. She was quitue curious as to whether or not this boy she was dealing with was even worth her time. She had only seen him once or twice and couldn't remember for the life of her anything about him. Nor did she care. It was just out of plain curiousity that she asked. While she really wanted to leave part of her wanted to stay and get to know the boy. He had guts. Most Hufflepuff's know better than to dig into Slytherin's personal lives.
She was starting to cool down a little which surprised her. Usually she was angrier for so much longer when anyone tried to creep inside her life.

After she had stopped fuming at the boy she noticed that his hair had turned a lovely shade of green. She had thought of doing it herself but someone had beat her to it. She looked to see Belinda wand in one hand and ink in the other. She snickered and flashed Belinda a smile, and she rarely smiled. She was really starting to like the girl she was quite nice to her that was. And she liked that the girl didn't pay attention to non SLytherin's she was ashamed that she did and wished she had not continued the conversation. If only she had been paying more attention.

Leonardo simply watched the girl, who's laugh was as annoying as nails on a chalk board. When she had recorked the ink, he looked at his reflection in the window. "Not bad. But you know, it might clash a bit with my Quidditch robes." He didn't bother to try to fix his hair, he would deal with it when he got back to the Hufflepuff common room. There are many humiliations in the pursuit of love - or lust, as it often turned out to be. It could have been a lot worse than green hair. He was pleased that the more pleasant of the two Slytherins had decided not to leave, so he answered her questions politely. "I'm a sixth year. And you're in your seventh year, are you not?"

"Tis true" Lilith replied, still not sure why but probably out of boredom he didn't seem too bad he didn't freak out with the green hair Belinda had given him which interested her. But at the same time he had not retaliated back at her which she would have like to have seen. Not because she wanted anything to happen to Belinda, oh no because then she would be able to throw in a curse or two and it was afterall her favorite thing to do. However it also annoyed her that he did not retaliate because acceptance was not an acceptable emotion to her. If anyone had turned her hair green Slytherin or not 7th year or not she would have something to say about it and that person would leave thinking very hard about what they had done and may have had a few physical changes. Because he no longer amused her and she saw no more need to talk to him she began again to pursue a conversation with Belinda whom she was hoping more and more to be friends with.
"So," she said thinking of a topic, "Are you buying anything else besides that ink?" she asked. It was a poor attempt at conversation but Lilith was not the best conversationalist to begin with.
